Cross cultural competencies (CCC)
Everyone has expectations thinking about the other side of the earth. Viewpoints formed by word-of-mouth, documentaries and a quick google search are enough to inspire and excite us, but do very little to actually prepare us for what is to come.
Interacting with people who are hundreds, if not thousands of kilometers away has become commonplace and as a result we see ourselves confronted with new requirements. Some of those situations are focused on an individual: expatriation, impatriation, repatriation, business trips. Others affect the whole company: operating and coordinating globally, joint ventures, expanding into a foreign market.
CCC are a set of skills that aid you in developing the understanding necessary to form the human relationships that determine the success of your business venture. They describe your ability to effectively engage with people from different cultures. It is a transferable set of skills, meaning that a high level of CCC empowers you to interact effectively with people from most any culture.
CCC consist of cultural awareness (recognising), cultural intelligence (understanding) and cultural proficiency (the ability to act appropriately and authentically).
Together we will assess your needs and then I will tailor a program to enable your success.
burnout prevention
We are all aware of the devastating effects stress can have on our health. Aside from the physical and mental exhaustion it can lead to chronic ailments such as insomnia, high blood pressure, stomach aches, ulcers, depression, death and more. Stress affects us mentally and physically, and yet our society has successfully goaded us into believing that stopping to take care of ourselves is a sign of weakness. In fact, when we think of successful men and women, don’t we all picture a well dressed individual that is somehow in a hurry? Jetting from here to there, with not two, but three smartphones?
In older generations one was expected to suffer in silence, but when the true consequences of chronic stress became known and we became aware just how much more stressful life has become, a counterweight to the benefits of globalization, the news finally settled in the public conscience. Or did it? Though we now know how terrible stress can be for us, we have yet to live like it.
As a successful manager you know what it takes to perform. You know that in this day and age stress and responsibilities only grow, and during burnout prevention sessions we will develop your abilities to resist and manage stress in order to keep you performance level and go even further beyond.
Self management
In a world where the importance of effective management has become invaluable, and where the need to coordinate, design, perceive and prepare within a moment’s notice dictates our daily doings we all recognize the necessity for constructive self-management. Where to start though?
Self-management skills encompass a variety of abilities that enable us to increase our own performance as well as enhancing our contributions to a better work environment. Examples include confidence, persistence, resilience, patience, perceptiveness and emotional regulation.
Together we will strategize how to best capitalize on your strengths, how to be prepared for your weaknesses and how to lay the tracks for your continuous development in order for you to be able to direct the trajectory of your career and grow the skills of those for which you are responsible.
